ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBAAAALLLL??!!!!

Sports fans nationwide know what the end of summer / start of fall ushers in: Football Season!! If you're a fan of the sport, you anxiously await this moment so you can totally immerse yourself in all things football.  A huge part of this immersion involves going to your favorite watering hole to stuff yourself with wings, beer and shots and talk major shit to everyone in the room who's not rooting for your team. It's a wonderful thing.
Girlfriends on the other hand, know that they are getting ready to be majorly ignored for the next several months unless they think of a way to infiltrate the football crazed minds of their men. I suggest they find a pink jersey somewhere and “fake the funk.” After all, if you can't beat 'em; join 'em.  You’re lucky if you happen to be one of those super cool girls who genuinely love football. Unfortunately I’m not, but I do genuinely love spending time with my man so I was on a mission to find some great “game watching” locations that could make the both of us happy. So here are some cool spots for fans, non-fans, and faux fans (you know who you are) who want to get out and enjoy the undeniable hype and energy that define this crazy thing called FOOTBALL SEASON.

Dantanna's
Dantanna’s:  If you want to catch the game but don’t want the basic and unsophisticated cuisine normally offered at a sports bar, this is the place for you. Dantanna’s is an upscale sports bar located in Buckhead. It has an elegant décor, full steak and seafood menu and even a cigar lounge. They have a spacious patio, complete with numerous state of the art televisions allowing you a good view of the game from any seat.  Also for your viewing pleasure, they recently upgraded to amazing 65 inch LED 3D televisions in the bar and private dining area. They’ll supply the 3D glasses; you just show up ready for an amazing viewing experience.  3400 Lenox Drive Atlanta, GA 30326

The Bucket Shop Café:  Not in the mood for fancy fare? No problem. Right around the corner from Dantanna’s, you can find The Bucket Shop Café. You already know about them if you’re an Auburn or Redskins fan. It’s a cozy sports bar which offers traditional sports bar menu items like great wings, fish tacos and scrumptious queso, just to name a few.  3475 Lenox Rd NE Atlanta, GA 30326

Indigo Bar Atlanta:  I knew Indigo was a cool place to go on a weekend night to meet friends for drinks or just to hang out and enjoy some cosmopolitan style swag and ambiance. What I didn’t know however, is that it was also a great place to catch a Thursday night football game. To sweeten the pot, they’re serving free wings (while supplies last) and have major drink specials: $3.00 for select wine choices for starters!  619 Edgewood Avenue SE Atlanta, GA 30312
Indigo Bar Atlanta

Dugans:  This is another super cool, super hype spot to come out with your boys (or girls) and watch the game of your choice. Dugans features theme nights such as Mad Mondays where you can get $5.00 VIP Margaritas and House Martinis and Thirsty Thursdays serving up $5.00 Long Island Ice Teas. Handle That!!  777 Ponce De Leon Avenue NE Atlanta, GA 30306

Yard House:  If you’ve been to the Monday Happy Hours here (3:00-6:00) you’ll be happy to know that right now, those hours are extended.  You can now enjoy the Monday Happy Hour specials from Kick Off to the Final Play. These specials include half off the price of select appetizers and various sized beer selections that range from $2.25 to $5.00.  261 19th Street NW Atlanta 30363 (Atlantic Station)

Loca Luna's famous Mojito
Loca Luna:  I didn’t know whether to feature this restaurant because when I checked their website, it made no mention of the best kept secret that I’m about to share with you. But……. a pretty reliable source of mine told me that Loca Luna has gone LOCO…..for real!! On Sundays (a day synonymous with football) my source told me they have wings and fries for $4.00 as well as $5.00 Mojitos. So it appears that they have quietly transitioned from their Sunday day party to a great place to catch the game. Their “Easy Sundays” are in effect from 1:00 pm to 10 pm.  550-C Amsterdam Avenue NE Atlanta, GA 30306

I didn’t include Twin Peaks because I just featured them as the Ultimate Man Cave, but if you haven’t been there already, you have to enjoy just one game there before the season ends. Great food, an abundance of televisions all featuring sports, and value priced drinks and food make them a definite “must do” for the season.
