The Weekend Review: 3/15 - 3/18, 2012

The Weekend Review: 3/15-3/18  "Right On" or "Right Off?"

In last week's Weekend Forecast, I picked several bars and lounges as great spots to hit up to enjoy the fantastic weather, sites, and people of the "A." Due to a few unforeseen circumstances however, I was unable to make it out to Aurum on Saturday (3/17) and the St. Regis on Sunday (3/18) but if you were on the scene at either, PLEASE hit me up (click on comment) and let me know how it was. Here is my promised "Right On / Right Off" review of the weekend picks I did make it to.

Bar-ONE: Bar-ONE was HOT on Thursday (3/15). The boys from FM2 and Peter Thomas (Bar-ONE owner) pulled it off again. It was a full house but not so crazy that you couldn't find a seat at the bar (if you got there early) or walk around and enjoy yourself. The music was even better than the last time!! It was the best of grown and sexy hip hop. DJ Stefan ripped it up by mixing the old and the new: Lloyd and Wale's new hit "Sabotage" and some old favorites by my girl Ashanti, Biggie & 112; even Mase!!  The drinks and food were on point as always. I wanted to try something new but stuck with my old favorites, sweet potato fries and tilapia fingers. But I traveled deep (8 people came with me,) and one of them ordered the crab cakes and said they were delectable. We had a fabulous time. Bar-ONE was "Right On."

Buckhead Bottle Bar: I had a blast at Bottle Bar on Friday (3/16).  It was packed with just the type and set of people that I like to party with: people who look stylish and fab but know how to have fun. Vonnie Holiday and Devin Green representing the NFL and NBA respectively, were in the house balling out and enjoying the night. And speaking of enjoying the night, it would have been impossible not to. The weather was gorgeous and Bottle Bar is the perfect place to go when you want to enjoy the pleasing outside temps AND party. Why?  Because the decor and set up is fabulous. First of all they have a large patio with wrap around cushioned seating lining the perimeter of the entire patio. Its positioning and set up makes it a cool spot to sit, sip, and see the who's who list of guests entering the club, as well as going upstairs to the newly opened roof top. Yes that's right: Bottle Bar has a roof top that opened for the first time on Friday!
It is fabulous and has definitely taken the already hype spot to another level. There was a private party going on up there on Friday, but being the super connected girl that I am (LOL), I was given access. The owner and his General Manager, gave me a tour of the new roof top and I gave them the "thumbs up." It's definitely hot. So if you are looking to host a private party and a sexy roof top is your flavor, you should definitely put Buckhead Bottle Bar at the top of your list of hot venues. Please tell them Felicia at Lounge Around Atlanta sent you. I don't think I have to tell you that Buckhead Bottle Bar was "Right On."
